For those of you looking for a series that is completed and doesn't take too long to read - check out the web comic "Tiny Sun" by emKas. It is a dark fantasy story that involves a female elf who is being kept in a dungeon, being accused of associated with demons. She says she is innocent. We hear her side of the story, a rather sad one at that.
With this somewhat short story emKas has given us a mysterious start to this character and her backstory. As I read on I learned there was a deeper story to this world and those who inhabit it. I don't want to give any spoilers but I was pleasantly surprised with the details and bit of backstory to how this elf character is where she is now. The art is original, drawn in a sort of sketchy style. I like the more natural and darker colors throughout. The same colors seem to be used throughout most of the comic but I felt like that made it stand out and it felt consistent. Also the different perspectives drawn give a good mixture to us readers, pages are all on different levels to each other.
Another thing I enjoyed about this story was that it wasn't complicated or overwhelming. The cast is small and it's not hard to keep up with the plot. Emotions run high at some parts but that's one of the other parts to "Tiny Sun" that I enjoyed. These are dangerous times and the writing of emKas for these characters and the narration is spot on.
I think this is a good short story to check out. It's a total of 47 pages and could even be read in one sitting - depending on what sort of reader you are. I happily finished it and I'm glad I found it on Comic Fury. It may be just the sort web comic you may be wanting to read!
