A refreshing last few weeks weather-wise!

Here in north east Ohio where this lady resides we have been having regular winter days again! Sort of the like the days I remember as a kid! Which has been nice! Snow and colder temperatures. I feel like the last few years our winters have been mostly wet and cold with two or three big snow storms and that's that. It's been about one to two weeks now we have had steady snow outside covering everything. I'm hoping this will take care of tick season - that's gotten pretty nasty the last few years.
When I look at any news media these days I see nothing but the unfortunate news of the California fires and how that's been destroying so many lives. I truly do hope things can go back to a safer time and cleanup and repair can happen soon for all those individuals. That being said I'm grateful we are finally getting what we should be getting out here in the eastern mid west. I know global warming is only going to get worse over the years so for times like this where it feels similar to what I grew up with I take a sigh of relief.

I'm physically fairly close to you and yeah, it's definitely been a Winter winter this year. My chronic illness doesn't like it but I know it's better. I'm trying to be careful about it.

First off, I'm glad that the weather seems to be normalizing in Ohio. I have some family in that state, and we haven't heard anything concerning from them lately.

Secondly, thank you for showing empathy for the people of Los Angeles and their neighbors: even though I live in northern California, the situation with the wildfires is still truly heartbreaking and personally traumatizing. I don't know if you heard, but I lost one of my closest friends in a house fire last Christmas Day (which is also my mom's birthday). He managed to save his family and friends from the blaze but became disoriented by the flames along with complications with his asthma. We have all dubbed him a hero as well as our friend, and we are still grieving the loss -- to lose him like that was just petrifying.

I just read an article about how a MAGA-centered American actor named James Woods who wanted every Palestinian in Gaza slaughtered (he created a hashtag called #KillThemAll) found his own home burned to the ground by the infernos. Woods is known for portraying Hades in Disney's "Hercules", formerly one of my favorite Disney films. I say formerly because I can't look at that film the same way anymore after Woods fell in line with MAGA. And his Twitter post with the hashtag was just hideous. He was calling for Gaza to be "blown back to the Stone Age", and for there to be no compromise or ceasefire. Pretty much what Nikki Haley wrote on an Israeli warhead with a Sharpie.

Well, now James Woods has no home, and Trump isn't going to save him either, regardless of his loyalty. Karma doesn't sleep, it seems...

Oh my gosh, no I didn't know that... I am so sorry to hear that. Yes, that's awful. How sad, I'm sorry that's happened. Fires are awful things. *hugs*

Wow, that's awful too... on a totally different level. How sad... I don't understand people at all. My personal thoughts are that we really don't know the first part of what those people in Gaza are going through. Their whole lives are turned upside down. So ignorant attacks like that verbally are just thoughtless and disgusting.
No, all of these trump supporters I think are in a rude awaking.

Here in SE Ohio I'm hoping all this snow is doing the ticks in as well. It's been a while since I lived in the N.E (went to podiatric medical school in Cleveland a million years ago)

Oh that's neat! How did you like going there? I like visiting Cleveland sometimes. I live about an hour east of there.

It was a long time ago (early 90s) so Cleveland was rough and sadly medical school kept me SO busy I never got to properly enjoy it (same deal with my residency in NYC, i never saw a single museum)

Yes, same here. On and off this week we have been getting more snow and next week the temps will be very cold! :-/ Make sure to stay warm!
