This is also a post I've been meaning to write for awhile now, I figured maybe when the mood strikes I will pick a topic (or a few!) to share of what I am grateful for. Today after work I went to an event at my local library of learning about Viking runes and painting them on a canvas. I wrote my name and a few other runes but on the way out to my car I dropped mine and it smeared on my shorts/leg. I will touch it up and fix it tomorrow I think. But what I am grateful for is to be so close to my local library. I just live a few minutes from mine and they have been doing more projects and things to get the public involved. Also a summer reading program which I have joined. I'm happy to have a safe place to get books, movies, information. It's a blessing.

My town's saloon has become a new safe place for me in the evenings (though I don't drink since I want to get home safely) since I still live with toxic parents. Hopefully that will eventually change when I move into my new apartment, which I've already paid the deposit and initial rent for. It's just a waiting game of when the unit's renovation's are complete and getting a call back from the manager to finalize details.

Being close to a library is always wonderful. I have fond memories of spending a lot of time in my local library, and even a mobile library when I lived out in a somewhat more remote area (it was like a big RV thing with a whole library inside; it was very cool!).

And runes are pretty curious things! Obviously they were quite suited to writing as those who used them did all those years ago, but now with our current writing instruments (except computers maybe), they're not super practical. I find it interesting how some people now have imbued them with a kind of mystical quality. I wonder why that is. I'm sorry to hear about your painting, though :-(

I borrowed them and return them when the mobile library came back next week (or whenever it was; I forget now). I'm pretty sure it was a local government-run thing.

Living near a library truly must be joyful! There's a bookstore near my house that recently opened but it sure ain't as cozy or homely as a library.

That is nice that you have an active library with events and things to do. Super important! Being close is an added bonus!

My library used to do the painting classes too! I miss those. I'm glad you have something like that near you too. :)
