So early Tuesday morning (2 am to be exact) my dad had to go to the hospital because his tongue was swollen. Turns out it was Thrush (an infection in his mouth). When they did some other tests on him it turned out he also has pneumonia. Not even a week after my mom came home! My mother doesn't drive, so I've taken her, my nephew (which they have legal custody of) and my sister. It's been long days after work and not only am I physically tired each evening when I get home, but I am emotionally tired as well.
This has put a damper on my reading of webcomics, working on my own story/comic and starting an account on golbalcomix. I'm behind on everything, but I will eventually get caught up.
I'm reminding myself each day I'm grateful to have my mom back at her home and that my dad is being taken care of. They are both the world to me. Both in their late 70's and still kicking, even if their health seems to be getting worse each year. Seeing your parents age is a new kind of heartache that I wasn't quite ready for. Usually my dad is the stronger one of the two and this is the first time I've seen him in a hospital for more than two days. He's out of the ICU and now in a regular room. But he's still going to be there a few more days they told him today.
This is why I haven't caught up on here with reading, but I will work at it. I may have some time tomorrow night to read through my reading page on here. And I'm hoping by the weekend that I may have some extra time to read more, too. I hope you all have been doing well.
