Philately update!
Jan. 24th, 2024 05:51 pmThe start of this week (Sunday through last night) I was pretty sick with this head cold, sore throat and a bit of an ear ache. I'm finally better - gosh, it feels like the days drag on when one is sick! Anyway, I wanted to get on here and write earlier but all my body wanted to do was sleep. Which is what it needed. Anyway, here is an update - I need a break from writing these reviews!
My favorite and main downtime these days has been my stamp collection. It makes me feel calm, it's educational and overall I'm happy when I am doing it. Things have been going smoothly with the new friends I've made in a stamp group on Facebook called the stamp train. We are all on different lists and trade 100 random stamps with each other at a time. So that means when you get the envelope you take what you want from that 100 and replace it with something new and send it to the next person. Also I have made some new contacts and some wonderful trades. It's been such a positive experience. I've even gotten stamps for Christmas from some of them, which was a sweet surprise.
Thanks to Mike (Lord Myk as some of you know him here online) I got some nice albums and new sheets. Since my albums were getting too full I ended up needing more room. Since there is only so much room in an already made album, it can be difficult when you start to run out of room. I have all my stamps in alphabetical order. My next project is to finish up going through extra U.S. stamps and then to write all the countries I have stamps from and to get at least 5 - 10 from each country. It may be more difficult to get the ones that don't exist anymore, but I will see what I can find at a decent price or trade. And after I get caught up with that I want to make an album to those on facebook to see all of my extras to trade. This will save me time when they need to see what I have available.
And lastly I wanted to let you guys know the different countries I have traded with to date:
Sri Lanka, Singapore, the U.K, Braisl, Canada and the Netherlands.
I'm hoping to find more counites to trade with, that's an excitement in itself.
I hope you guys enjoyed my dorky little philately post... :3
