Overall June was an alright month. Like always and as you guys know - this year is going by way too fast!

I got my yard sale done, making well over what I thought I would. Which was a good feeling. Yesterday I dropped off the stuff that didn't sell at my local Goodwill. And I will sell some of the books at half price books as well as take some and put them in those little free libraries I see scattered around. I don't think I want to ever do another yard sale if I can help it. It was a good experience, but one I just don't want to repeat if I can help it.

One annoyance about last month was I did get sick twice with my sinuses. Both to the point where I was throwing up phlegm and/or dry heaving. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again, but I think part of the issue is how drastic our weather has been changing from hot to cool.

I've been making good progress with reading. I think I will go back to reading some manga this month. I have some volumes of Nana, Fruits Basket and Bestars that I haven't read yet.

With my stamps I have finally started an album to share on Facebook for my stamp groups to look at that has all of my extras I want to trade. After I finish that I want to go through my albums and make a list of all the counties I have and how many stamps I have from each country. It's been great getting back into this fun and soothing hobby.

Gardening has been going good, too. I separated some of my lilac bushes on my hill and spread them out so they have more room to grow. Today I did a bit of weeding after work. Keeping up with my property and all that comes with it is still a tiring chore. I hate using that word, but some days I really don't have the energy to do everything.

I'm part of a library group at my public library. It's called "Friends of the public library". So far I've gone to two meetings. We are trying to figure out ways to get the community more engaged with going there, doing projects, ect. We are doing a fundraiser later this month to raise money. There will be baskets to raffle off and a few of us are donating baskets. I'm putting one together that has art supplies in it. It feels nice to be a part of something.

With my comic I have been getting back into the grove of things. This month I am going to make an account on Globalcomix and will share "Promised Memories". I'm a bit nervous, but with kind words from Matt I feel everything will work out.

Sapphire has been doing good. Yesterday I got her a betta buddy. A silly little betta fish toy that goes in her tank. She didn't care much at all about it.

Sorry to hear you've been sick, Beauty, and I hope you're doing much better now. And yes, time goes by so quickly. I can't believe we're already half-way through 2024! The passage of time as you grow older is such a strange experience, isn't it?

Nana is a great manga! I haven't read Fruits Basket (although Jason quite liked that one from memory), but I have seen the first anime series of Beastars. I had mixed feelings about it honestly. I quite liked the anthropomorphic setting and the thought that was put into the world, but the characters themselves and the stories that revolved around them felt a bit underwhelming to me, personally. I'd be really interested to hear what you think of the manga, though!

And I'm glad to hear about your comic! I'd love to read it :-)

I'm 35 (I'll be 36 this year).

Despite really enjoying it, I don't think I ever finished it unfortunately. It's a long one, and it's usually the case with such things that life happens and I get permanently side-tracked. I've only finished a couple of long-running mangas due to such reasons. But I might just check the new Fruits Basket out! Would be cool to find out what my friend Jason liked about it back in the day :-D

And thanks for sharing your comic! I'll start reading it this weekend. I've only seen the first few pages just now, and it looks interesting! From what I've seen so far, it seems you're definitely a talented drawer.

Glad your yard sale went well! Yeah, they are a lot of work and involve a lot of dealing with a very specific (and annoying) type of bargain hunter, so the only time I've felt successful at it was when I really used it as a means to Just Get Rid of Things, priced everything super low, and watched people be So Excited that no really, that was the actual price. A very "ha, I am getting a great deal!" for them and a very "ha, you are solving my Stuff Problem and paying me a bit for the privilege!" for me.

I will never forget the big guy who double-taked and rechecked what I wanted for my books, and then was SO EXCITE and just...bought all of the manga I had out. All of 'em. And then loaded them up into this little tiny hatchback car. :D

Heh, I don't even remember, honestly. I think that was probably around the time when I would have been realizing how expensive the manga habit was going to be and so was cutting my losses on some of them. Funnily enough, it was about the right time that Fruits Basket might have been one of them. ;P I loved that show, but already had the anime and wasn't sure I wanted to have the manga, too.

with the stamps, how much are you interested in other countries? Because I have been stashing stamps for years, and almost certainly have some duplicates that could be sent. If you are interested in particular things -- marsupials are a common theme in Aus stamps -- I can focus on those. Note that this isn't something I'll be able to get sorted soon, and I might need reminding!

Congrats on the yard sale going well! I wouldn't be able to hold one where I am and am very glad online sales are an option -- although it's often more helpful for larger ticket items than a bunch of small ones.

Glad you made a profit on the yard sale, but you're right, not necessarily a fun process. A LOT OF WORK!

I meant to ask, how are your parents doing?

I have not been gardening lately since we hit the humidity towards the end of June. I just can't do it in that kind of weather. :( I'll pick it back up again when it starts to finally cool down for us. Which might not be until October.

It sounds like you have been making a lot of progress on everything else though! That's awesome. :)

Yes, I do live in Florida. I gets so very humid down here! We've been having dry heat spells in between the storms though and I live for those!
