Jul. 3rd, 2023 08:04 pmHello! My first journal on here. I just want to say thanks to a new, supportive friend of mine named Matt for the invite to this site. I'd like to become more confident with writing and I think this may be a good, if not different way to go about it. Also I like the idea of being able to write about whatever I feel like to those who would like to read my posts. So here goes, hopefully this ends up working out for all those involved.
From my profile I mentioned I'd like to write a book and illustrate it someday. Well the story is already coming along in a written forum and a comic forum which I have been working on for over 6 months now. It all started when I was a teenager and I got into writing stories and drawing comics. I did this for several years and eventually slowly lost interest to work on other art among other hobbies. But I kept my stories and comics. Moving twice in the process!
Now enters in a new (not so new since I have known him for quite a few years now) person in my life, Mike who happened to talk me into being in a comic like tournament this last year. You enter in your characters and they "fight" with whoever they are paired up with. This isn't as violent as it may seem and can be rather comical at times depending on how you go about it. ANYWAY... I entered in a character from an old story of mine- actually the last of my creations I came up with when I was about 18/19 I do believe. When I decided to add her in, I also made the decision to start up with that story again.
This enters into a new phase of the story where I started on Comic Fury, a web comic hosting site. Where I started sharing my comic I recently started drawing out. To date I'm 7 chapters in. And this is how I met Matt and how I came to be on here. I have also met many other nice, supportive and creative people on this site.
I will write about my comic in another journal. For now I thought it was important to share who I am and how I got here. I appreciate all of you who took the time to read this first post - here's to more!
