I re-started Animal Crossing New Horizons!

For the last several weeks or maybe it's been months now - Mike and I have been talking about wanting to restart our Animal crossing New Horizons games. I haven't been playing my switch a ton besides some Pokemon violet lately and Dream light valley. Back in 2020 when I got AC NH I put in so many hours... like 400 or something? Covid was a thing and I would just come home and play almost every day when I got done with work. I had a-lot of good progress and fun with my old game but lately I have been thinking about how fun it would be to try starting over again with new villagers. The two I got time are Bam for my jock villager and Mira for my big sister villager. The fruit on my island are pears. Today I'm off from work and I'm going to play some, I'm looking forward to it.
Do any of you play Animal crossing? The old or newer games? Do you have any favorite characters?

I love Animal Crossing, but I haven't played it in ages. My favourite villager is Kiki, but I also love Wade, Purrl, Dotty, and Moe.

I hope you have fun with your new island! It's nice to have a fresh start sometimes.

Thanks! It truly is. The game itself is pretty chill for me, so starting over didn't feel like a big deal.

Mira!!! I love her! She was one of my starters on my first island, which is still up and running almost five years later. I started on the Switch Lite and moved my game to the regular Switch, and last spring I decided to start up another island on the Switch Lite. I sought out a couple of specific characters for that one (Rudy, the red-nosed kittycat! And Rooney, my beloved cranky kangaroo!), but otherwise let the game decide who should move in.

All of the characters are so sweet, it's hard to pick a favorite (that's a little white lie; I'm ridiculously fond of Merry). It's a lovely low-key little game, and I'm glad to hear you're returning to it. Happy island designing! :D

One of my best friends had her on his island back when he played so I remembered her and her fun design, personality and house. :D The other ones you mentioned I am not familiar with but they sound like awesome characters, too.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was my first AC game I ever played. I got addicted to it during COVID and played every day. I’ve been wanting to get back into it.

I hope your villagers aren't too upset when you go back to it! Sometimes if you are gone for long periods of time they miss you and get cranky. lol

I got ACNH and a Switch during the pandemic. I used to play tons of hours every day, but then just lost interest. I got my island leveled up as much as I want to.

Oh that's nice to hear. Yeah, that happened to me as well. It just wasn't what I wanted to play for several months, so I understand. It's a nice feeling getting things to where you want them. :)

I play Animal Crossing on the switch, but has also gotten boring for me. I also contemplated starting again, but we had a lot of progress and I was able to get to a weird island that had everything and bring it back to mine. I just need to catch all the bugs and fish. Got all the ocean creatures.

My favorite character is Raymond the cat and Buck (horse) has been on our island since the beginning. We never cycled him out, but my kid got rid of Raymond (the only other one I wanted to keep!).

I bet it was fun to play that game in COVID; it was a very popular game then!

Oh that was hard to get, all of the bugs, sea creatures and fish. But fun! I never finished those tasks, although I got all the skeletons.
Aww, Raymond! I had Raymond. He was such a cutie. I think I remember Buck, one of my friends had him I think....
Yes, it was nice to come home from my somewhat stressful job at the time (I was a home health aide then) to play and sort of forget about the virus and outside world for a while.

I got all the fossils, but need ALL the bugs and fish. Sea creatures are done! I felt those were the easiest.

I bet the game was a lot more fun with people playing then. I would've loved to visit other peoples' islands!

I had a few people to play with, but not many. So it's fine playing by myself. And I play with Mike which is fun :)
