A new year - what goals or resolutions do you have?
Here's to a new year - I know not everyone is into making (and keeping) resolutions but I thought I would share mine and if you'd like to share yours I'd be happy to read about them.
Here's mine:
Keep up with 30 minutes of physical activity each day (yoga, cardio, ECT)
Practice with my other traditional art tools I have and want to learn more about
Learn how to make more home cooked meals for Mike and I
Keep up with my comic 'Promised Memories ' - I'm 18 chapters in!
Keep up with reading - this year my goal is to read at least 50 books!
Don't let politics stress me out - this is a hard one but I'm going to try to focus my energy elsewhere when things get dark.

I also want to do 30 minutes of activity at least 2x a week; hard to do with work all day.
Also love a good home-cooked meal; I REALLY need to do meal prep.

I hope you can accomplish your goal, too. I found it's easier sometimes to start with my days off so I have more energy.
Yes, what do you think you'll cook?

I suppose it depends on the day. I have to prepare a lot of things for quick cooking with work and school. Mondays and Tuesdays, we have other obligations that follow, so even less time to make a good meal. I try to have meat already cooked and whip up a veggie or something in most cases. Tacos are easy! I do enjoy pulled pork or stuff chicken too.

1) Get well enough mentally and physically so I can return to my job with the disabled community; I know that the divisive and blatantly toxic political agenda that looms ahead is undoubtedly going to harm our diverse disabled community (and our LGBTQIA+ participants as well), and I feel an obligation to return so as to continue to assist, and if the job calls for it, to defend them. Plus, I deeply miss the participants and my old staff/supervisors and they deeply miss me, so there's a mutual agreement there. 😇
2) Improve on staying connected with certain friends; admittedly I fell behind on staying in touch with many of my offline friends due to the problems in my city/neighborhood and the worsening political climate, but now that the election is over, I feel -- and this is gonna sound REALLY awkward -- an odd sense of relief. Not because of who got elected (FAR from that), but because the suspense of the 2024 election is over. The suspense and anticipation was far more terrifying for me than moment the results were finalized. Again, I'm NOT happy that Kamala Harris lost, but at least the endless ruminating over "who will win" is over. There's uncertainty in the future, yes -- but the uncertainty pre-election was far more mentally and emotionally draining for me than the outcome.
3) Staying connected with everyone here on Dreamwidth; that's kind of a given, but for the sake of full disclosure... 😉
4) Continuing along with my "OmniLegend Tales" franchise comics Sneakers' U-Force and Lil' Hero Artists; despite the foreboding over the election and personal mental/emotional and medical issues, both comics did very well over the course of last year, and I learned some nifty new strategies for coloring pages -- Sneakers' U-Force #12 stands as my best coloring job on a comic thus far, and I'm still very proud of it.
5) Catching up with all of the comics I follow; even though everyone (including you) has told me that there is no pressure on catching up with their comics, I still plan to do so anyway. Admittedly I have a tendency to feel guilty when I fall behind on someone's comic, but everyone (again, also including you) has told me that basically, Life Happens, and that's as legitimate an excuse as any. So I'll catch up with everyone's comics, but only WHEN I can -- it's time to show myself the same kind of patience and respect I give others.
And that's pretty much it. More goals may manifest in the coming months, but these five resolutions are the most important right now. 😇

I also need to catch up on comics I've been reading online. I haven't really been reading CF comics much these days. Just lost interest. But I do want to get back to it, like you mentioned. I'm excite to see your new coloring pages! I bet they are lovely!
Here's to the new year! :D
